Pronk
Pronk may refer to:
- Pronking, or "stotting", a behavior of gazelles involving leaping straight up during pursuit by a predator
- Pronk, or "progressive punk", a music style that combines the complex structures favoured by progressive rock with the energy and immediacy of punk. Less a defined genre, and more a reaction to the idea that these two kinds of music must be kept apart. It may well be best exemplified by the unique work of singer-songwriter Tim Smith and his band Cardiacs, who is also the creator of the genre, despite his personal disliking of the term. However, artists influenced by Tim Smith's and Cardiacs' work, such as: Mr. Bungle, Dog Fashion Disco, System of a Down, Blur, Tool, Battles, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum and The Display Team, are often dubbed as having a 'Pronk sound'
