Viktorija (real name '''Snežana Mišković''', born December 19, 1958) is a Serbia|Serbian female rock music|rock singer known for her husky voice.
Biography
Snežana Mišković was born in Vučitrn. She came to Belgrade as a student in 1976. She started singing with Society of Culture and Arts "Branko Krsmanović" and band Pop Polifonija. In 1981 she formed Aska (group)|Aska with Snežana Stamenković and Izolda Barudžija. In 1982 Aska performed at Eurovision Song Contest.
In 1986 Aska disbaned and Snežana Mišković recorded song "Šarene ulice" and started performing under the name Viktorija. In 1988 she released her debut album ''Spavaćeš sam'' ("You'll Be Sleeping Alone"). Main hits were songs "Barakuda" (written by Piloti (band)|Piloti frontman Kiki Lesendrić), "Spavaćeš sam" (written by Osmi Putnik frontman Gibonni|Zlatan Stipišić), "Sami" (cover of Ohio Express' song "Yummy Yummy Yummy" with lyrics written by Riblja Čorba frontman Bora Đorđević) and ballad "Daj, ne pitaj" (written by Stipišić and Đorđević). Album featured numerous guest musicians: Bora Đorđević, Izolda Barudžija, Ekatarina Velika|EKV frontman Milan Mladenović. and others. In 1989 Viktorija was voted the best female singer by the readers of ''Pop Rock'' magazine. In 1990 she won Female Singer of the Year award at MESAM music festival.
In 1991 she released her second studio album ''Ja verujem'' ("I Believe"). ''Ja verujem'' became diamond record thanks to the songs "Rat i mir (Ljubav je)...", which featured Kiki Lesendrić on vocals, "Arija", "Od Splita do Beograda", which featured Dino Dvornik on vocals, "Samo teraj ti po svome" and "Isus". In the same year she recorded a cover of Zdravko Čolić's old hit "Ljubav je samo reč" for the evergereen evening of Belgrade spring festival. The song was released on her compilation album ''...I ništa više'' ("...And That Is All"). She held her first solo concert in Belgrade in Sava Centar in 1992.
In 1995 she released her third album ''Ja znam da je tebi krivo'' ("I Know You're Jealous"). Part of songs on the album were written by Rambo Amadeus. Album featured a cover of Bijelo Dugme's song "A koliko si ih imala do sad", Viktorija version titled "Avantura - ljubomora", a cover of Zdravko Čolić's "Zagrli me", Viktorija version titled "Ako priđeš bliže" and a cover of
Jovanotti's song "Io sono positivo", Viktorija verions titled "Ja znam da je tebi krivo". During the 1996 she promoted the album with a number of concerts. She performed with a band of young musicians from Kosovska Mitrovica.
In 1997 Snežana Mišković retired. Compilation album ''Kada gužva prođe'' ("When the Rush Is Over") was released in 1998. In 2000 she made a brief comeback only to record live album ''Nostalgija (Viktorija album)|Nostalgija'' ("Nostalgia"), which featured covers of songs by Parni Valjak, Indexi, Kerber, Smak, Atomsko Sklonište, Oliver Mandić, Bijelo Dugme, D' Boys and others. Song "Pesme uspomena", written by Zoran Lesendrić for the movie ''Shadows of Memories'', was also released on the album.
In 2005, after many years she spent away from the public, Viktorija appeared at Beovizija music festival pergorming song "Kaži, sestro".
